I have about 400' ln ft of Eugenia hedges on my property. They are about 10' hi and 4' thick. Have had an elect trimmer, but dragging the chord and reloc the ladder every 3' or so became a major PITA. I decided I wanted a gas unit. Did research. The hedge trimmer (only) units were starting at $275 or so. Then I came across this 4 in 1 unit. What sold me was that I can reach high enough that I dont need a ladder to do the face of the hedges. And for the top, I can stand on an 8" step ladder and do about 4' to either side, meaning move the ladder every 8' or so. Big diff. Havent even used the other 3 implements yet. This hedge trimmer- -you can adjust the angle of the cutting fingers to 15 or 20 different angles- -very handy! The unit is a bit heavy, but the shoulder strap helps negate that. It starts up easily. And hot starts, (usually a prob for 2-cycle engines) have been very easy, usually restarts on 1st or 2nd pull. I paid pennies under $300, out the door, in early Nov 2010. I consider this a tremendous value. The motor is strong, and healthy. Big diff betw the 25cc homeowner units and this 33cc unit.
